Description

Genuine vintage postage stamp cufflinks - Eire - Sword of Light.

These stamps were issued from 1922 to 1968 in Ireland and are one of the first stamp series issued for an independent Ireland. These beautiful stamps, depict a hand holding up the Sword of Light, or Shining Sword from Irish folklore/mythology. The stamp is enscribed with the Gaelic words, "An Claidheamh Soluis" and this wording signifies englightement and progress.

The stamps are set into high quality silver coloured, nickel plated cufflinks (brass base), with hard wearing swivel barrel fittings.  They are then covered with a crystal clear resin dome that magnifies and protects the image, making them durable and scratchproof. As all stamps are franked differently through the postal system, the postmarks on your cufflinks will vary from those shown. The stamps and postmark will, however, be of the same clarity and quality.
